Kharsawan, Jharkhand: The Kharsawan administration has completed extensive preparations to ensure the peaceful and smooth observance of Muharram, one of the most significant events in the Islamic calendar. Officials have announced that while Muharram will be observed on June 26, the traditional Muharram procession will be taken out across the town on June 27 under strict security arrangements.

To review preparations and maintain communal harmony, a Peace Committee meeting was organized at the Kharsawan Police Station. The meeting brought together administrative officials, police personnel, religious leaders, and community representatives. Authorities emphasized the importance of celebrating the occasion in an atmosphere of peace, unity, and mutual respect.

Administration Focuses on Smooth and Peaceful Celebrations

Block Development Officer (BDO) Pradhan Majhi presided over the meeting and urged locals to maintain the festival's spirit of cooperation and brotherhood.Officials highlighted that all necessary arrangements are being made to facilitate the procession and ensure public convenience.

Special attention is being given to road cleanliness, drinking water facilities, street lighting, and healthcare services along the procession route.

Departments concerned have been instructed to complete all preparations before the event to avoid any inconvenience to participants and local residents.

According to officials, the administration is committed to providing a safe environment where people can observe religious traditions without disruption.

Temporary Power Shutdown Announced During Procession

Authorities have declared that the electricity supply in areas along the procession route will be temporarily suspended as part of the safety precautions. Power will remain interrupted from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on June 27.

Officials stated that the decision has been taken to prevent any electrical hazards and ensure the safety of participants during the movement of tazias and large crowds. Residents have been advised to make necessary arrangements in advance.

Meanwhile, local health facilities will remain on alert throughout the event. Hospitals and healthcare centers have been instructed to maintain adequate stocks of essential medicines and emergency medical equipment.

Strict Action Against Rumors and Misinformation

The administration has issued a strong warning against the spread of rumors and misinformation during the festival. According to BDO Pradhan Majhi and Circle Officer (CO) Captain Majhi, there will be severe legal repercussions for any attempt to disrupt the peace through misleading information or provocative content.

Authorities have also confirmed that social media platforms will be closely monitored during the Muharram period. Special teams will keep an eye on online activities to prevent the circulation of misleading messages that could create tension or confusion.

Officials appealed to citizens to verify information before sharing it and to report suspicious content to the authorities immediately.

Enhanced Security Measures Across Kharsawan

Kharsawan Police have finalized comprehensive security arrangements for the procession. Station House Officer Rahul Singh said that adequate police personnel will be deployed at key locations and sensitive points along the route.

Security teams will conduct continuous patrolling before and during the event. Surveillance measures are also being strengthened to ensure that any untoward incident can be addressed promptly.

The administration has stressed that maintaining law and order remains its top priority and that all agencies are working in coordination to ensure a peaceful observance of Muharram.

Procession Route Finalized

Following the Peace Committee meeting, officials and committee members inspected the proposed procession route. As per the finalized plan, the Muharram procession will begin from the Imamwara located in Beherasahi.

The procession will pass through several important localities, including Tantisahi, Bhatti Chowk, Chandni Chowk, Bazaarsahi, Rajwadi, and Kumharsahi before concluding at the Karbala ground in Tuniyabari.

Authorities have instructed local bodies to ensure that roads remain clear and suitable for the smooth movement of participants throughout the route.

Several prominent community members attended the meeting, including religious leaders, social workers, and representatives from different local groups. Officials appreciated their cooperation and support in maintaining harmony during the festival.
